Petit Jean Paris

Petitjean Paris is a young French house dedicated to silk scarves, created by Léa Petitjean. Born in Jura and raised in Provence, Léa grew up amidst the forests, light, and colours of Southern France. She studied literature, nurturing a passion for tales and storytelling, and first worked in Paris, in high jewellery, and then in New York, before creating her own brand.

At Petitjean Paris, each scarf begins as a drawing. Léa paints the motifs by hand and creates universes where gardens, flowers, animals, landscapes, and characters appear. Her inspirations come from childhood memories, from Provence to Jura, from walks in Paris and from imaginary gardens. The result is luminous and poetic designs.

The silk is crafted in Como, Italy, a region with a long tradition in silk fabric manufacturing. The brand thus seeks to combine French creation with the savoir-faire of great Italian silk manufacturers.

Why I chose Petitjean Paris for Bah Oui

I like the delicacy of the designs, the colours, and above all, the way each scarf tells a story without needing words. There's something very personal about these pieces.

I also like Léa Petitjean's story and how she transformed her own memories and references into designs that other people can now make their own.

Petitjean came to my attention through a suggestion from Julie, who was then my contact at Laulhère.
