Brigitte Tanaka

Brigitte Tanaka is a Franco-Japanese duo of young designers, Brigitte Giraudi and Chieko Tanaka. Their creative work starts with everyday objects, which are diverted from their usual use and transformed into fashion accessories. The result is unexpected, fun, and poetic: a shopping bag, a package, or a mundane object can be transformed into a piece that makes us smile and look at everyday life differently.

Their best-known product is their embroidered organza bags, which reproduce and reinvent the appearance of ordinary plastic bags. Despite the delicacy of the material and design, they are intended for daily use and are surprisingly resistant.

Why I chose Brigitte Tanaka for Bah Oui

Because they are pieces with humour, imagination, and personality, which don't need to be serious to be beautiful. I also like the encounter between French and Japanese culture, which is present in the work of the two designers and gives the pieces a very unique identity.

At Bah Oui, I choose the models that I find most fun, unexpected, and easy to incorporate into daily life - those that we simply feel like owning.
