Collection: Repetto Paris

Repetto was founded in Paris in 1947 by Rose Repetto, who began by creating dance shoes for her son, the dancer and choreographer Roland Petit. It was from this world that she developed her famous savoir-faire and the cousu retourné technique, where the shoe is sewn inside out and then turned, allowing for a flexible and comfortable construction. This technique, initially conceived for dance, became one of Maison Repetto's signatures.

Today, Repetto shoes continue to be produced in the workshops of Dordogne, France, where artisans work with the finest leathers and carefully oversee each stage of manufacturing. The pairs undergo several checks to ensure comfort, quality, and aesthetics and are finished by hand, respecting a tradition that the brand continues to adapt to contemporary demands. Production remains in limited series.

Repetto's history is deeply linked to dance, but the brand has managed to transform this heritage into its own everyday language. The delicacy of its lines, the lightness, and the simplicity of its models have made its shoes recognizable pieces far beyond the world of ballet.

There's also another reason why Repetto interests me: the brand's relationship with personalities who have, or had, a very distinctive identity. Brigitte Bardot made the Cendrillon inseparable from her image, after Rose Repetto created them especially for her in 1956. Zizi Jeanmaire gave her name to the famous Richelieu Zizi, and Serge Gainsbourg turned them into one of his trademarks. Later, Jane Birkin, Amy Winehouse, Kate Moss, Mick Jagger, and other personalities continued to take Repetto into very different worlds, from music to fashion and cinema.

Why I chose Repetto for Bah Oui

Because I like the blend of tradition, simplicity, and personality. I like the brand's history, the delicacy of its lines, and how a seemingly simple piece can take on a completely different identity depending on who wears it. These are shoes with a very strong history, but they don't need to be worn by a ballerina to make sense.

At Bah Oui, I choose the models that seem most special to me and that I can imagine accompanying many of our customers for a long time.
